Skin and Inflammation

Title: Clearing Up Skin Issues & Reducing Inflammation Naturally
Introduction:
When we’re dealing with skin issues, we have to remember — the skin is a reflection of what’s going on inside the body. If the skin is breaking out, inflamed, or irritated, it’s often a sign that the inner systems of elimination and digestion need support.

Common Reasons for Skin Issues
• Weak or sluggish digestion
• Congested elimination organs (liver, kidneys, colon, skin)
• Excess acids in the body
• Unbalanced diet
• Dehydration
When these systems get backed up, waste that should leave through the liver, kidneys, or colon starts coming out through the skin — leading to irritation, acne, rashes, or inflammation.

Internal Skin Support: Herbal Infusions
Fresh Root Infusion
• Use 1 oz of fresh roots (such as burdock, dandelion, or yellow dock)
• Add to 32 oz of water
• Bring to a boil with the lid on, then simmer for 30–45 minutes
• Strain and drink 4 oz daily
This helps cleanse the blood, support the liver, and improve elimination through the skin.
Nettle Leaf Infusion
• Add 3 tablespoons of dried nettle leaf to 32 oz of boiling water
• Cover and steep overnight
• Strain and drink throughout the day
Nettle is rich in minerals and helps the body clear acids while nourishing the skin and hair.

Support Digestion
When the digestion is weak, toxins can’t be broken down and eliminated properly.
Here are some herbs to strengthen and stimulate digestion:
• Dandelion Root – Supports liver function and bile flow
• Ginger Root – Stimulates digestion, improves circulation, and supports elimination
• Dandelion Leaf – Acts as a mild diuretic, helping the body release excess fluid without depleting potassium

Herbs Traditionally Used for Skin Health
These herbs work to purify the blood, support detoxification, and calm skin irritation:
• Echinacea – Cleanses the lymphatic system
• Yellow Dock – Supports the liver and bowel elimination
• Sarsaparilla – Binds and removes toxins from the blood
• Barberry – Supports liver detox and bile flow
• Dandelion Root & Leaf – Strengthens digestion and clears waste

Anti-Inflammatory Support
Reducing internal inflammation is key to calming the skin.
Some reliable herbs and resins include:
• Turmeric – Powerful systemic anti-inflammatory
• White Willow Bark – Natural salicin source to ease inflammation and pain
• Myrrh – Cleansing, antiseptic, and supportive to the skin and mucous membranes
I would make a tincture with theses herbs, all equal ratios in 80-95% alcohol 1:2, example 4oz of each herb and 24oz of alcohol.

Closing Thought:
Healthy skin starts from the inside out. Focus on improving digestion, staying hydrated, and keeping your elimination pathways clear. When the inside is clean, the outside naturally begins to glow.
